The New York Times will be releasing an article featuring my work as a Men’s Divorce and R

The New York Times wasn't the only national publication to take notice of my work.

PEOPLE covered my work with Bryan Abasolo during his highly publicized divorce from Rachel Lindsay. In July 2024, PEOPLE reported that Bryan publicly credited me with helping him gain clarity and make decisions during his divorce rather than simply reacting emotionally to what was happening around him.

PEOPLE later covered an interview I conducted with Bryan about his marriage and divorce and again identified me as his divorce coach.

That matters for a simple reason. This isn't me putting the words “Men's Divorce Coach” next to my own name. It's independent national media connecting Rene Garcia and Men's Divorce Coaching (MeDiCo) with divorce coaching for men.

Anybody can call himself a coach. The harder part is getting clients to publicly put their name behind the experience.

Men's Divorce Coaching (MeDiCo) has earned 18 Google reviews while maintaining a perfect 5.0-star rating.

I didn't want Men's Divorce Coaching to be built around motivational slogans or my personal opinion about what men should do after divorce. So I studied it.

My Quality of Life Survey After Divorce (QoL-SALAD) examines how men actually recover following divorce and what factors are associated with better outcomes.

In the broader sample, divorced men showed an average improvement of approximately 13 points in quality of life over roughly two years.

Men who participated in my structured coaching program improved by approximately 24 points in only three to six months.

That's nearly twice the improvement in a fraction of the time.

The comparison does not prove that coaching caused the entire difference, and QoL-SALAD was not a randomized clinical trial. But the magnitude and speed of the difference are significant enough to warrant attention—and the findings continue to shape how I approach divorce recovery for men.

Why Men Going Through Divorce Are Turning to Coaches: Rene Garcia Featured in The New York Times

Founder of Men’s Divorce Coaching (MeDiCo) | Featured in The New York Times and PEOPLE | 1,000+ Men Coached | 18 Google Reviews with a Perfect 5.0-Star Rating

In May 2025, New York Times reporter Brianna Holt interviewed me about my work as a Divorce and Recovery Coach for Men and the growing field of divorce coaching.

The New York Times identified me as Rene Garcia, a Divorce and Recovery Coach, and discussed my work helping men navigate the strategic decisions of divorce while rebuilding their lives afterward.

The interview came after The New York Times reported on a high-profile client who had worked with me during his divorce. That coverage brought national attention to an issue I've spent years working on: men often enter divorce without a clear strategy for handling both the divorce itself and the recovery that follows.

My job isn't to replace a divorce attorney or therapist. It's to help men think clearly, prepare intelligently, avoid unnecessary mistakes and start rebuilding their lives while the divorce is still happening.
