Does Divorce Coaching Work? Measured Results for Men

Absolutely, and better than you think. This is not a therapy session where we sit around and rehash your problems. It is a structured program developed by divorce expert Rene Garcia, featured in The New York Times.

In the QoL-SALAD Study, men without coaching improved their quality-of-life scores by 13 points over approximately two years. MeDiCo clients improved by 24 points in just 3 to 6 months. That means MeDiCo clients improved at least three times as fast, with nearly twice the improvement.

What Actually Happens in Divorce Coaching?

First, we establish your baseline. Before our initial consultation, you complete an entry Quality of Life After Divorce assessment based on the same framework used in the QoL SALAD Study of 717 men.   The results are discussed during our session.

In our initial  session, we complete the intake. During our 90-to-120-minute meeting, we examine your divorce, finances, children, health, relationships, living environment, identity and immediate risks.

Then we build the plan. When you enroll, I begin your onboarding plan that day. You leave knowing exactly what needs to happen next.

How Do We Identify Your Strengths?

After enrolling and before your first official coaching consultation, you complete the Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment.

CliftonStrengths is a research-backed assessment developed by Gallup, one of the world’s most recognized analytics and advisory organizations. This is not a generic personality quiz. It identifies recurring patterns in how you think, make decisions, communicate and execute.

We determine where your strengths are helping you and where they may be working against you. Your plan is built around how you actually operate, not generic advice written for every divorced man.

What Do Divorce Coaches Do?

Divorce coaches help in two areas: the divorce itself and the life you build afterward.

1. The divorce itself: To reduce unnecessary legal costs and delays, protect your custody position and prevent you from being financially destroyed by the process. We address attorneys, documents, negotiations, communication and the threats or opportunities that may affect your position.

2. The life you build afterward: The goal is not just to get over your ex. That’s a shitty approach. The goal is to build a life you love so much that, somewhere along the way, you realize you no longer miss her. You have more options than you know. My job is not just to tell you about them, but to help you actually experience and enjoy them. That means becoming a stronger father, rebuilding your health and confidence, improving your style and social life, and creating a life you actually want to live and that includes dating.

Does Men’s Divorce Coaching Include Online Dating Coaching?

We don't just  offer it, we insist you do it. We don't just tell you to get on a dating app and wish you luck. Online dating is one of our specialties. Our online dating coaching is designed to make sure you thrive as a dater because our data shows that success in dating adds incredible gains to your quality of life. Just scroll down and see the pictures of actual clients.  This is because it includes multiple sessions on online dating that are either done virtual or in person.  We work on every aspect necessary, from wardrobe, to posing, to taking them yourself  as I look at them, edit them accordingly, and help you intimately on the dating site so that you're not ignored. While everyone is different I can say with confidence that the average client goes from 2 likes to 50 likes per week. That's because we don't only focus on your looks but on increasing exposure in the dating algorithm. But we don't stop there because getting likes is one things, getting the date is another and you'll get the date or better say get the dates.

How Does Divorce Recovery Coaching Work?

My strategy is not to make you less miserable. It is to make you thrive, ooze confidence and have fun while you are doing it.

Your Quality of Life results show where you are strong, where you are stuck and how much work your situation requires. We address mental health, exercise, sleep, fitness, appearance, confidence, financial control, social life, dating, fatherhood and identity.

That includes a complete fitness analysis, a style upgrade and rebuilding how you present yourself socially and professionally.

For men ready to date, we address photographs, profile strategy, conversations and converting matches into actual dates. Likes are not the goal. Getting to the date is.

How Does Coaching Help Divorced Fathers?

Being a good father after divorce takes more than maintaining a custody schedule. You now have the opportunity to parent according to your values, your communication style and the relationship you want with your children.

This is not just my opinion. In my father-child sub-analysis, 58% of fathers separated for at least one year said their relationship with their children improved.

You become their historian. You create memories, build traditions and help develop them into the responsible adults you expect them to become. The goal is not simply to preserve the relationship. It is to become a stronger father and leave a legacy your children will respect.

How Often Do Consultations Take Place?

Consultations are scheduled according to your situation and level of support. They may occur twice per week, weekly or every other week.

Each meeting addresses current developments, assessment findings, progress and the next actions you need to complete. You leave with homework and clear expectations. You also receive direct access to me between consultations for questions and time-sensitive situations. I typically respond within the hour during business hours.

How Quickly Can Divorce Coaching Help?

It is no exaggeration when I say you will feel better immediately.

Not necessarily because your situation has changed, but because you have a clear, realistic and timely plan to get ahead of it. You also realize that you now have someone working with you who has guided hundreds of men through this process.

Conservatively speaking, the program’s six-month benchmark is to move your Quality of Life score by at least one standard deviation.

In the broader QoL SALAD Study, comparable recovery took approximately two years for the average man. Tracked MeDiCo clients reached those recovery benchmarks within three to six months. Individual results depend on your circumstances, participation and willingness to complete the work.

Is Divorce Coaching Expensive?

Not even close.

What is expensive is waiting. What is expensive is assuming your attorney alone will get you through every part of this.

Private coaching currently starts at $1,900. Pricing varies according to the length of the program, consultation frequency and level of support required.

Compare that with unnecessary legal hours, poorly prepared negotiations, preventable mistakes and spending another two years stuck in the same place. Consultations are conducted virtually throughout the United States. In-person consultations may be available by request.

How Men's Divorce Coaching Get Results

A clear, structured process from your first assessment through measurable recovery. This seems like a lot of steps but is actually seamless when we start because I walk us  though it.

STEP 01

Before Our Initial Meeting

We'll establish your divorce Quality of Life Assessment. Same assessment used in the QoL SALAD Study of 717 men. This scoring is proprietary and results are shared only during initial consultation.

PURPOSE: Uncover your needs, streamline initial consultation, and determine realistic timeline to recovery.

STEP 02

Virtual 90 - 120 min Initial Consultation

We address your initial assessment results and get to the bottom of your circumstances. This isn't therapy so don't expect softball questions. You and I need to approach this with unrivaled honesty and stay solution focused. I'll ask you to give me your honest answers rather than canned answers. This is your open canvas that we're building. Don't give me the crap you're supposed to say. I need to know where you're at unapologetically at rather than "I need to be a good person" crap. You're already a good person. Established. Let's continue. My job here is to know your options and begin developing a plan; and examine your divorce, finances, children, emotional condition, physical health, living environment, relationships, identity and immediate risks.

RESULT: We stop guessing and establish the right priorities.

STEP 03

Build Your Action Plan

When you enroll, I begin your onboarding plan that day. You leave with a prioritized list of what needs to happen next and specific action items. Shared with  you are results and plan. There will be homework and you'll have your first session scheduled before we get off the phone.

RESULT: No vague encouragement. You know exactly what to do.

STEP 04

Self Awareness Gallup Test

Before your first official coaching consultation, you complete the Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment. We identify how you naturally think, decide, communicate and execute, then use those strengths strategically. As for your limitations, we turn them into areas of opportunity to exploit rather than a weakness.

RESULT: Your program is built around how you actually operate. After taking, we will begin with  this as your first client consultation.

STEP 05

Control the Divorce Process

Address what's urgent. Will you need an attorney if so, one that specializes in what? If you have an attorney, best ways to communicate so you don't get an insane bill. Use me first, you already paid, I guide you on how to minimize cost while increasing effectivity.  Top of mind are, kids and custody (I have yet to get anything less than what  my clients have asked for regarding custody).  We address attorneys, custody, finances, documents, communication, negotiation and the threats and opportunities that can affect your position. If applicable how to approach your soon to be so that  this doesn't turn into an expensive cold war.,

RESULT: Better preparation, fewer unnecessary legal hours and fewer expensive mistakes.

STEP 06

Rebuild the Man

Remember, I'm medically trained so I think like a physician. We work on your health and mental  health, TRT if necessary, SSRI, etc.  Through series of process we build confidence, style, social life, dating, fatherhood, living environment, financial control and personal identity.

RESULT: You're not here to become less miserable. I'm here to make you thrive.

STEP 07

Execute, Measure and Adjust

Every consultation reviews current developments, assessment findings, progress and the next actions you need to complete. This isn't a you hear once and done program. We repeat the process and repeat it and repeat it. Style? Yeah, we do shopping. Pictures for online dating? Yes, I show you how and you will. The pictures below were not done by me but by the client. I just teach them. We do these virtual  but if you request, we can do these live. Though this process you receive direct access to me between consultations for questions and time-sensitive situations.

RESULT: Clear expectations, real accountability and measurable movement and improvement with direct honest feedback

Actual clients. No AI-generated or AI-enhanced images.

Results: Across the broader study, quality of life rose from 57% in the first three months to 72% after two years. MeDiCo clients began coaching at different points in the divorce process and improved from at entry 59% to 83% within three to six months. Measured subgroup. Individual results vary.

MeDiCo Clients Improved From 59% to 83%

HOW COACHING WORKS

THIS ISN’T THERAPY. IT'S A PROGRAM SPECIFICALLY CREATED FOR YOU: STRATEGY, EXECUTION AND ACCOUNTABILITY.

If you’ve never worked with a coach, expect something different from therapy. Therapy can help you understand why you feel and react the way you do. Coaching focuses on what you do next.

Rene uncovers what you need, identifies what is putting you at risk and takes inventory of everything already working in your favor—your intelligence, experience, earning ability, health, presence, relationships, communication and natural strengths. Then he turns those assets into a clear plan, shows you how to execute it and holds you accountable. No vague encouragement. You leave each meeting knowing exactly what to do next.

1. ASSESS THE SITUATION

Identify your urgent needs, risks, constraints and priorities.

2. MAP YOUR STRENGTHS

Use Gallup CliftonStrengths to uncover the abilities and resources you can put to work immediately.

3. BUILD THE STRATEGY

Create a sequenced plan for attorneys, custody, negotiation, money, communication and recovery.

4. EXECUTE AND ADJUST

5. REBUILD THE MAN

Strengthen your body, confidence, presence, fatherhood, relationships and purpose.
